Visit by Prof. Laurens CHERCHYE to LISER on September 12

Laurens Cherchye holds a PhD in economics (Leuven, 2001). He is currently a full professor at the University of Leuven, an extramural fellow of CentER (Tilburg University), a honorary senior research associate of University College London (UCL) and an international research fellow of the Institute for Fiscal Studies (IFS). He has been a full professor at Tilburg University (2009-2011), a visiting professor at ECARES (Université Libre de Bruxelles) (2008-2009) and was a postdoctoral fellow of the Fund for Scientific Research - Flanders (2002-2008). Laurens research interests are on microeconomic theory and demand analysis, with a specific focus on revealed preference theory and nonparametric analysis of consumption behavior, on the collective model of household consumption behavior and, also, on nonparametric production and efficiency analysis. His publication record lists more than 70 articles appearing in peer reviewed economics journals, among which Econometrica, American Economic Review, Journal of Political Economy, Review of Economic Studies and the Review of Economics and Statistics.
