Unveiling of Survey Results at 2017 Luxembourg Sustainability Forum

LISER participates in initiative to improve sustainable development in the Grand Duchy

On 21 November, LISER participated at the 7th edition of the Luxembourg Sustainability Forum organised by IMS Luxembourg (Inspiring More Sustainability) which gathered 500 participants around the issues of Corporates Social Responsibility (CSR). LISER Researcher Dr. Nicolas Poussing , expert in CSR, was invited to speak at the roundtable “Sustainable Development: which strategic opportunities in Luxembourg”.

The roundtable revealed the results of the IMS/TNS ILRES/LISER survey, which aimed to assess the adoption of Corporate Social responsibility by IMS’ members. More specifically, the survey shows the contribution of the firms to the Luxembourg Agenda 2030.

Alongside the Minister of Labour, Nicolas Schmit, the roundtable had representatives of local and international companies, politicians and academics. On stage, they discussed diverse topics such as urban agriculture, well-being in the work place, and the current situation of CSR in Luxembourg according to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of United Nations Development Programme. Dr. Nicolas Poussing emphasized the importance of corporate engagement in the social field and the positive impact of CSR practices on innovation.

About Nicolas Poussing: Researcher at the Luxembourg Institute of Socio-Economic Research (LISER) since 2000, Poussing is leading the unit ‘Sustainability, Innovation & Labour Relations’. With a PHD in Economics and qualified to conduct research, Poussing has focused his research around topics of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and information and communication technologies. Using a multidisciplinary approach and working with econometric data, Poussing has published numerous research articles concerning individual behaviours and business strategies with respect to innovation, the intensive use of communication and information technologies as well as CSR. Sharing his knowledge, Poussing has repeatedly worked with IMS Luxembourg, most notably is his analytical work on the two barometers “Firms and Diversity Lëtzebuerg” and on the study “Dynamics of Sustainable Development in Businesses in Luxembourg”.
