Members of the European Parliament pay a visit to LISER

Widening the social impact of scientific work

On 6 July, LISER welcomed three Luxembourgish Members of European Parliament (MEP) to its offices with the objective of building sustainable links between the world of research and politics.  The MEPs in the delegation included - Mady Delvaux , Tilly Metz and Christophe Hansen (taking office in September).

Following the successful project ‘Pairing Scheme – Politics Meets Research’ led by the Luxembourg National Research Fund (FNR) in 2016/17, of which LISER was a part of, the Institute was again invited to present itself to a delegation of law makers.  The exchange was meant to showcase how scientific expertise plays an important role and wherce politicians have to make decisions. The know-how from scientific research can be used to address current and future societal challenges
