Michal Burzynski is an economist that specializes in international economics, with a focus on international migration.
He received his PhD from Universite catholique de Louvain, as a F.R.S. - FNRS research aspirant at IRES (Institut de recherches économiques et sociales). The thesis entitled "Migration, Human Capital and Growth in a Globalized Economy", written under the supervision of prof. Frédéric Docquier, was given the prize for an Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation by the Polish Prime Minister, 2017 and Poznan University of Economics and Business award for the best doctoral thesis, 2016.
From September 2016 untill August 2018 Michal Burzynski held a postdoc position at Centre for Research in Economics and Management (CREA), University of Luxembourg. In 2018, he received the CREA Award for Young Researchers.
The main research interests of Michal Burzynski are: the economics of international migration, quantitative economic theory, international economics and general equilibrium modelling.
