Health and Health Systems

Addressing the social, economic and environmental determinants of health to inform improved policy decisions for health – both within and outside the health system.

Informing health and non-health policies for a sustainable, healthy future

At LISER, the Health and Health Systems programme is dedicated to advancing research and policy to address the complex social, economic and environmental factors influencing health. Through projects such as the Horizon2020 EXHAUSTION initiative and collaborations with key international organisations (e.g. the WHO and the OECD), we provide evidence-based insights to tackle critical health challenges — from environmental impacts on health to disability support reform. By engaging with policymakers, stakeholders and experts, we ensure that our research informs practical, sustainable solutions in health and non-health policies.

Our goal is to help build resilient, inclusive health systems that are adaptable to the evolving needs of communities worldwide.
