Introduction

LISER and its 17 partners of the Cahiers de la Grande Région have just presented the 9th Cahier at the 89th edition of the Agricultural, Forestry, and Agri-food Fair of Libramont (Belgium), the largest open-air fair in Europe. The Cahier’s content features a series of articles by Belgian and Luxembourgish authors on the transformations of rurality between the Belgian province of Luxembourg and the Grand Duchy. Franz Clément, the coordinator of the Cahiers at LISER, hosted a roundtable on the topic with several political representatives.

The Essentials of the Greater Region

The Cahiers de la Grande Région are a flagship publication dedicated to the analysis of the economic, social, territorial, and environmental dynamics of the Greater Region, which includes Luxembourg, Lorraine, Wallonia, Saarland, and Rhineland-Palatinate. Produced in the framework of cross-border cooperation, the Cahiers aim to provide objective insights, key indicators, and thematic analyses to support public decision-making and guide development strategies at the cross-border level.

Collective Intelligence Serving the Territory

As a genuine tool for observation, monitoring, and decision support, the Cahiers de la Grande Région aim to enhance understanding of shared challenges, strengthen cooperation among partner territories, and support public policies in areas such as employment, mobility, economy, demography, environment, and social cohesion. They are intended for institutions, decision-makers, economic and social stakeholders, as well as all partners involved in the development and governance of the Greater Region.

The Cahiers de la Grande Région are produced through a partnership between several institutions of the Greater Region.
