...are glad to announce the 'Call for Applications' for the Seventeenth Winter School on Inequality and Social Welfare Theory (IT 17): Inequality and Big Challenges

The aim of the School is to provide junior and senior researchers on inequality and social welfare analysis with the opportunity to discuss issues concerning Big Challenges for our societies. This year, the challenges include:

  • Artificial Intellingence and the labour market
  • Climate change
  • Development and conflict

The list of confirmed speakers includes: Paolo Brunori (LSE and University of Florence), Maurizio Bussolo (World Bank), Frank Cowell (LSE), Christina Gathmann (LISER and University of Luxembourg), Vanesa Jorda (University of Cantabria), Peter Lanjouw (VU Amsterdam and LIS), Arnaud Lefranc (CY Cergy Paris University), Flaviana Palmisano (University of Rome La Sapienza), Andreas Peichl (University of Munich and ifo), Vito Peragine (University of Bari), Nico Pestel (ROA, Maastricht University), Lucinda Platt (LSE).

Application

PhD students selection is based on the presentation of a CV and a paper to be attached to the online application form not later than December 6, 2023. Applications received before November 30th, 2023 will be reviewed within two days.

Participation fees for accepted applicants are:

Base: 400 €  includes tuition, shuttle bus service Verona-Canazei and social dinner
Base + dinner: 500€ includes base registration plus dinner for all days
Base + dinner + accommodation: 730€ includes base registration plus double (or triple) room together with another participant and half-board (breakfast and dinner). Capacity is limited and this option will be offered only to early applications.
