Abstract: The Benelux Interuniversity Association of Transport Researchers (abbreviated as BIVEC-GIBET, stemming from the "Benelux Interuniversitaire Groepering van Vervoerseconomen (BIVEC) - Groupement Interuniversitaire Benelux des Economistes des Transports (GIBET)) brings together academics, lecturers, researchers and policy makers from both government departments and the business community, all involved in broad research field of transport.
Aiming at stressing and promoting high quality research, BIVEC-GIBET organizes the biannual BIVEC-GIBET Transport Research Day. This one-day conference aims to provide the audience with an overview of the current trends in transport research in the Benelux countries.
This year, the BIVEC-GIBET Transport Research Days is hosted by the researchers from the University of Luxembourg and the CEPS/INSTEAD research center.
The conference also profited from generous financial support delivered by the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Infrastructures (MDDI) of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and by the University of Luxembourg, Faculty of Humanities, and its Research Unit IPSE - Identities, Politiques, Sociétés, Espaces.
Keeping in mind that transport and mobility research is essentially multi- and trans-disciplinary, the organizers do not only cover transport economics but also geographical, land-use, technological and modelling issues related to mobility, transport and logistics research. Consequently, the research presented at this conference, and in these proceedings, deal with a wide scope of issues from new theoretical topics to practical achievements.
