Patrick Thill has been since 2008 a researcher in LISER's labour market department. He holds a MA in International Relations from the University of Warwick and studied politics and literature at Queen Mary University in London and the University of Valencia. He is the national expert for Luxembourg in the European Centre of Expertise in the field of labour law, employment and labour market policy  (ECE) of the European Commission, in the Mutual Learning Programme (MLP) of the European Commission and in the Workers' participation Europe network of the European Trade Union Institute (ETUI), and a Management Committee Member for Luxembourg in the EU COST Action on the Dynamics of Virtual Work. In 2015, he designed and coordinated (with Prof. Vassil Kirov) the European research project EUROSOFIN - Social dialogue in the financial sector in Europe: Contribution to anticipation and restructuring. He has conducted studies, consultancies and peer reviews for the European Commission, the OECD, EUROFOUND, CEDEFOP, the European Confederation of Trade Unions and the Ministry of Work and Employment in Luxembourg . He is currently a board member of the Cellule de Recherche de l’Evaluation sur les Conflits (CRRC) of the Ministry of Research in Luxembourg and an expert in the Comité de Conjoncture of Luxembourg's Ministry of the Economy. Since 2014, he has received AFR funding from the Fonds National de la Recherche in Luxembourg for his doctoral thesis about the implementation of European employment policies as regards youth unemployment in Luxembourg (LUXEMPLOY). The recent scientific article (with Prof. Vassil Kirov) entitled ' The impact of crisis and restructuring on employment relations in banking: The cases of France, Luxembourg and Romania' was published in the European Journal of Industrial Relations.

Research interests include: Europeanisation of employment policies and European Integration, Labour market policies, European, national and sector employment relations, youth unemployment, qualitative research methods.
