Julien Licheron holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Rennes 1 (France, under the supervision of Professor Jean-Jacques Durand). His PhD dissertation was dedicated to analysing inflation differentials and the single monetary policy within the European Monetary Union.

Since 2009, Julien Licheron has been working as a researcher at the Luxembourg Institute of Socio-Economic Research (LISER). He is coordinator of the “Observatoire de l’Habitat”, service from the Housing Ministry dedicated to the production, analysis and diffusion of statistics related to housing in Luxembourg.

In his research, he is investigating the spatial structure of real estate prices through hedonic pricing models. He is also analysing the housing conditions and housing costs for households in Luxembourg.
