European Union Statistics on Income and Living Conditions 2019 (EU-SILC 2019)
The project EU-SILC (European Union Statistics on Income and Living Conditions) 2019 is the main source for European statistics on income, social inclusion and living conditions which cover objective and subjective aspects of these themes in both monetary and non-monetary terms for both households and individuals. They are used to monitor the Europe 2020 strategy in particular through its poverty reduction headline target.
The data collected and processed by LISER within this project will be used by STATEC to delivery of the EU SILC 2019 to EUROSTAT (the European Directorate-General for Statistics) according to Regulation (EC) No 1177/2003 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 16 June 2003 concerning Community statistics on income and living conditions (EU-SILC). The EU-SILC is also the basis for the indicators of the Luxembourgish annual report “Travail et cohésion sociale” carried out by STATEC.
The EU-SILC questionnaire is composed of a household section and an individual section, the later will be applied to all household members. The survey is carried out face to face from January until September 2019, withing the Luxembourgish territory among a stratified random sample. An initial gross sample consists of 8500 households, from which a final sample of 3250 private households is obtained. The final sample consists of 2000 households (the longitudinal Sample which is interviewed consecutively throughout 4 years) and at least 1250 are new sampled households.
