Context
The Living Conditions department of the Luxembourg Institute of Socio-Economic Research (LISER) is organizing the workshop “Families, Welfare Policies and Child Human Capital”.
The workshop brings together complementary theoretical and empirical perspectives on the formation of children’s human capital and the mechanisms through which families and public policies shape child development trajectories. The different contributions examine how parental characteristics, beliefs, investments, and family interactions, as well as welfare policies, educational interventions, and early childhood education and care, influence children’s cognitive and socio-emotional outcomes.
The workshop will feature a keynote lecture by Prof. Isabelle Brocas (University of Southern California) on decision-making and child development, alongside presentations on family economics, child development, and public policy.
