About the Summer School
Following the transition of the IZA Network to its new home at the Luxembourg Institute of Socio-Economic Research (LISER), we are pleased to announce the IZA@LISER Summer School in Labor Economics 2026.
The Summer School provides PhD students with a unique environment to learn from leading researchers and discuss their own work with peers and senior faculty. The 2026 edition will feature lectures by:
- Alan Manning (London School of Economics)
- Kristiina Huttunen (Aalto University)

Submission Guidelines
We invite applications from PhD students working on labor economics and closely related topics. To apply, please complete the online application form and upload your documents using the following naming convention:
- Full Paper: A working paper or a complete draft (File name: lastname_paper.pdf)
- CV: (File name: lastname_cv.pdf)
Recommendation Letters
To ensure a confidential and rigorous selection process, a letter of recommendation from a senior advisor or faculty member is required.
- Letters must be sent directly by the recommender to: summerschool@liser.lu
- Please ask your recommender to include your name in the subject line: "Recommendation for [Student Name]"
- The deadline for letters is also 5 March 2026.
Travel and Accommodation
The Summer School will take place in the town of Remich, Luxembourg. Participants are expected to arrive for the start of the program on 1 June and stay for the full duration of the event.
- Lodging: LISER will provide and cover 3 nights of accommodation (shared double rooms) and meals for all invited students.
- Travel: For students who are unable to secure travel funding through their home institutions, LISER may provide travel support upon request and on a case-by-case basis.
