The Luxembourg Institute of Socio-Economic Research (LISER) has been invited to present its research at the Climate Mobility Pavilion during COP30, which will take place in Belem, Brazil, in November 2025.

Research Scientist Michal Burzynski will represent LISER and present the institute’s innovative work on CliC:ME – Climate Change, Migration and Economics, a project exploring the economic and human mobility impacts of climate change through advanced data modelling and interactive visualisation tools.

As part of the Global Centre for Climate Mobility (GCCM) programme, the CliC:ME project will be featured in a joint one-hour session titled “Climate Mobility Data and Literacy – Projecting Climate Migration and Displacement”, co-organised with the United Nations University – Institute for Environment and Human Security (UNU-EHS) and the Internal Displacement Monitoring Centre (IDMC).

In addition, LISER will take part in a panel on the Caribbean Climate Mobility project, where the institute contributed significantly to the modelling work. The CliC:ME interactive dashboard will also be displayed throughout the week on the GCCM’s pavilion screens, allowing COP30 participants to explore the project’s findings and simulations in real time.

“This is an outstanding opportunity to showcase LISER’s expertise on the global stage and to contribute to the dialogue between science, policy, and practice on one of the most pressing challenges of our time — climate-induced mobility,”

explains Michal Burzynski, Research Scientist at LISER.

Through this participation, LISER strengthens its engagement in international research on climate change, migration, and sustainable development, and continues to support evidence-based policymaking for a more resilient future.

📍 COP30 will be held from 10 to 21 November 2025 in Belem, Brazil.
