LISER is developing participatory research approaches to assess the social acceptability of environmental policies supporting decarbonisation and societal resilience in Luxembourg. Through large-scale surveys, researchers provide policymakers with insights into citizens’ perceptions, helping to reduce the gap between policy design and implementation. Building on this work, discussions are under way with the Ministry Environment, Climate and Biodiversity on extending a participatory digital platform that would enable ongoing dialogue between researchers, policymakers and a representative panel of citizens. Such a tool would allow policy ideas to be tested before implementation, perceptions to be monitored during roll-out, and feedback to be shared transparently, fostering better alignment between public expectations and policy choices.
Scientific evidence from LISER underpins Luxembourg’s first National Action Plan against racism and discrimination.
