LISER & the University of Luxembourg have teamed up to participate in a transnational research proposal "IMCHILD".

July 2017 - LISER & the University of Luxembourg have teamed up to participate in a transnational research proposal “IMCHILD” to study impact of childhood circumstances on outcomes in adulthood. Together, the team of Luxembourg researchers will cooperate with researchers in Germany, France, Sweden and the USA.

The Luxembourg National Research Fund (FNR) will support a team of researchers from LISER and the University led by Philippe Van Kerm.

Project details

IMCHILD: The impact of childhood circumstances on individual outcomes over the life-course

The project seeks to better comprehend the impact of childhood circumstances on outcomes in adulthood. Although much is known about the relationship between parental background and children’s performance at certain stages of their adulthood, little has been done to analyse how childhood circumstances influence educational and labour market outcomes of individuals over the entire life course and under different institutional designs and policies.

Duration: 36 months
Principal Investigator for Luxembourg: Philippe Van Kerm (Joint-Professor b/t LISER and UL)
National co-applicants: Anne Hartung (UL), Franceco Andreoli (LISER)
